Description
Hi, Good People! This is a fresh instalment of Nu Cool Lounge: A Soulful, Jazzy & Funky Journey series.
Drawing inspiration from the jazzier and more soulful side of the music cellar, I was also stirred by the Zulu word “Ubuntu,” which, in summary, means: Protect life. Stand together. Honour every human. Opting for selections to soothe the soul in a troubled world, to provide a brief moment of escape. I have deliberately leaned into personal favourites, which means , there is an element of randomness too, and some of the artists may be unfamiliar.
Look out for tributes to Steve Washington (Slave and Aurra), Bryan Loren, and Sly & Robbie. Other highlights: Casiopea, Stevie Wonder, plus Vivienne McKone, The Beaujolais Band, and The Apostles - paired with underappreciated artists like Webster Lewis and Weldon Irvine. Ease into the grooves and let the vibes flow through. Like what you hear? Please show some love, repost, favourite, or drop your thoughts in the chat. Peace & Blessings🙏🏾
