Hi, Good People! I am back with another instalment of the Nu Cool Lounge series, Vol 25.
This collection brings together a mix of underplayed UK and US neo-soul and funk gems from: Mica Paris, Mayer Hawthorne, J.T.Q. (James Taylor Quartet), Incognito, Me’Shell N’Degéocello, Moonchild, and Andreus. It also serves as a heartfelt tribute to some of the artists the music world has sadly lost this year: Gwen McCrae, Chris Jasper, Angie Stone, Michael “D’Angelo” Archer, and Anthony Jackson.
The set also reflects the changing season — “Summer’s Gone” here in the UK, and winter is on its way…
As always, the mission is to spotlight quality, feel-good grooves. Expect my signature sprinkling of jazz fusion brilliance from George Benson, alongside soul-jazz and smooth jazz delights from Gabrielle Goodman and Evan Marks, respectively.
