Description
Hi, Good People! I am back with a new instalment of the Nu Cool Lounge series, Vol 24.
This time around, I am vibing with the mellow-soul-jazz fusion spirit, inspired by the late Kevin Toney (formerly of The Blackbyrds) and his 1982 LP Special K—especially the track “A Good Feeling”, which sets the tone for this collection perfectly.
As always, the mission is to spotlight quality, underplayed feel-good grooves. Expect soulful gems from The Whispers, Phyllis Hyman, Lou Rawls, Minnie Riperton, and Marlena Shaw, alongside funky flavours from Fat Larry's Band, Side Effect, Ingram, Bill Summers, and the L.A. Boppers. I have also included a sprinkling of jazz fusion goodness from Rodney Franklin, Spyra Gyra, plus soul jazz niceness from Angela Bofill, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Syreeta.
Ease into the grooves and let the vibes flow. If it hits the spot, show some love—repost, favourite, or drop your thoughts in the chat.
Peace & Blessings 🙏🏾
