Power Pop Portal airs every Thursday at 6 PM and Sunday at Nooon WGOT LP FM 100.1 in Gainesville, Florida and features host Gargs Allard as your pope of power pop.
Inspired by ‘60s British and American pop and rock, power pop is catchy guitar based music with elements of searing riffs, strong melodies, crisp vocal harmonies and light arrangements. Featuring music inspired by the early Beatles, from the Kinks to Big Star to Fountains of Wayne; and from The Who to Cheap Trick to The Hussy's - Power Pop Portal brings you the best music from yesterday and today.
PPP originally streamed 99 shows on rock104.com, a former Internet station of the University of Florida.
Gargs (aka Greg) Allard who received his BS in journalism in 2012, is also the founder and editor of the online music magazine Tune Groover (tunegroover.com).
He also created, writes and hosts The Gargsville Radio Hour and the local music show Gainesville Grooves. All three shows air on WGOT and have MixCloud pages.
