Mr. Scruff & MC Kwasi - Keep It Unreal 25th Birthday (October 2024)

MC Kwasi & I celebrated 25 years of Keep it Unreal at Manchester Band on the Wall on 5th October 2024. I started the Keep It Unreal Manchester residency back in 1999 as a way to combine all the music I loved in one night, and the first one was the launch party for my Keep It Unreal LP. Over the years I have had some incredible times, and many of the regulars have become friends. Having a familiar space to develop, stretch out and explore music with a brilliant crew & crowd has been a fantastic experience. It also enabled me to get really into improving the production & sound at my gigs, and got me into the habit of trying to make every gig better than the last.

This anniversary was a great excuse to dust off some of the classic tunes from Planet K, The Music Box & Band on the Wall that have soundtracked the night for the last 25 years.

Massive thanks to everyone who has been involved with the night since it started, and to the regulars who have been such a big part of the journey!
