On October 13, 2018 I was invited to dj at Melbourne's longest running Reggae and Dancehall party 'More Fire' hosted by Chant Down Sound System.
The party has been going for over 13 years now and has been one that I had attended many times in the past and has been in my Top 5 list of parties I wanted to play, so it was a real honour to be invited to play a 1 hour set.
To say that I was nervous is an understatement as people come to this party to dance and are purists and deep into this music and after a few early mistakes, I got into it.
As a dj, listener and collector of music I have always loved Reggae, Ska, Dub and Jamaican Roots music and have always played bits of it in my sets and played many reggae sets over the years.
I wanted my set to be about all that I love in Jamaican music and here is the result.
