Recorded Live on 11 March 2020 at Hawker Hall, Melbourne, Australia, I had no idea as I played this 4 hour set at my Wednesday fortnightly residency that it would be my last gig for the foreseeable future and that all gigs I play would be cancelled indefinitely due to COVID 19.
I also don't know if the venues I once played at will survive as all have shut down and let go of their staff, so I view this one as maybe my last gig in public.
Anyway, in this part of the mix I step into funk overdrive and play some of my most favourite 12s in my collection.
This set is all about the funk and a time in music when many things were possible and that people believed a brighter future was coming.
While some of these dreams have been achieved, many seem long off still and are more than ever worth fighting to protect.
