Recorded Live on 11 March 2020 at Hawker Hall, Melbourne, Australia, I had no idea as I played this 4 hour set at my Wednesday fortnightly residency that it would be my last gig for the foreseeable future and that all gigs I play would be cancelled indefinitely due to COVID 19.
I also don't know if the venues I once played at will survive as all have shut down and let go of their staff, so I view this one as maybe my last gig in public.
I'm so happy that I got to pack these records, some of the most favourite in my collection.
This set is all about the jazz, the funk, the soul and a time in music when many things were possible and that people believed a brighter future was coming and that it would be better for all concerned.
While some of these dreams have been achieved, many seem long off still and are more than ever worth fighting to protect.
