Jamahlia's Dance: An Introduction into Contemporary Jazz In Australia

I have been wanting to compile this set for a long time but didn't feel that I yet had the knowledge or depth in my contemporary Australian Jazz collection (I still don't I think) to do it. There is a wealth of Jazz talent in my home town Melbourne and in my country, Australia.

Mostly the musicians here do it for the love of Jazz, but what they do is world class and if you listen to this you will hear that Australian Jazz is a melting pot of outside influences and ideas, just like our food, lifestyle and population but heavily influenced by Australia's great vastness and big sky's.

The music I have selected for this set I believe is not only pushing Jazz forward, but is also nodding it's head to Jazz's past and present.

The set starts off deep, downtempo and spiritual before taking a diversion into Ethio-Jazz and Latin sounds before finishing super funky.
