In these crazy and troubled times, when isolation keeps us fearful and mostly indoors, when social media has gone haywire with falsities and conspiracy theories that even world leaders share, there is still racism in our streets and on our screens. People are being killed in front of our eyes. They are telling us they are fearful, that they are not protected by the protectors.
In my own country people are abusing Asian people for being Asian and some have resorted to violence against them. Then there is Aboriginal deaths in custody that have plagued this country since the first arrival of my forefathers. It has not gone away and is a blight on this country.
In another country, one that we have sacrificed for and look to for moral guidance, African Americans are continuing to die at the hands of police for minor incidents, the police walk free and it happens again and again.
On that note I delved into my Jazz records looking for peace, here is the result.
