Hi All, this is the first part of a 4 part series recorded live on 27/1/25, on a stinking hot 41 Degrees Celcius day during my 4 hour outdoor afternoon set at Afloat Melbourne.
I use these sets to dig deep into my House music collection, play new tunes and explore percussive and soulful house and what I term tropical house sounds that span afro, latin, world and even middle eastern sounds and find a way to link them together through straight up mixing, with minimal use of effects and hands in the air!
If you listened to my last 2 part 'African Rhythms' mixes you know what you are getting here, more summer tropical heat.
I'm not known for these sounds but have always prided myself on being a diverse and open minded dj and this residency and the summer sun have inspired me to go wider and deeper in what I play.
I always like to create a mood, tell a story and get people's attention when I play, I hope this entices you in and you stay for the whole 4 part ride!
