Simply Red is an English pop and soul band formed in Manchester in 1985. Fronted by lead vocalist and principal songwriter Mick Hucknall, the sole remaining founding member. The group has released thirteen studio albums, from Picture Book (1985) to Time (2023). All of these albums have reached the Top 10 on the UK Albums Chart, with A New Flame (1989), Stars (1991), Life (1995), Blue (1998), and their Greatest Hits compilation (1996) achieving the number-one position. Notably, Stars remains one of the best-selling albums in UK history.
