Description
Neil Percival Young OC OM (born November 12, 1945) is a Canadian-American singer-songwriter renowned for his influential contributions to rock and folk music. The son of journalist, sportswriter, and novelist Scott Young, Neil launched his music career in Winnipeg during the 1960s. He later relocated to Los Angeles, where he co-founded the pioneering folk-rock group Buffalo Springfield.
As a solo artist—frequently collaborating with his backing band Crazy Horse—Young released a string of critically acclaimed albums, including *Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere* (1969), *After the Gold Rush* (1970), *Harvest* (1972), *On the Beach* (1974), and *Rust Never Sleeps* (1979). His work is celebrated for its raw authenticity, poetic depth, and genre-defying sound. Young also played a significant role in the supergroup Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, contributing to their chart-topping 1970 album *Déjà Vu*.
