Dance music re-edits of club edits, like 'Boogie Down Bronx' out of MADONNA's 'Into The Groove', Just-Ice 'Cold Gettin Dumb' mixes out of George Michael 'Hard Day', all constructed by the genius minds of early 1980's original 2-TRACK tape editing kings. In the 80s, a very small group of young DJs and engineers took physical TAPE editing to places that the manufacturers of tape machines could never have imagined, Almost out of thin air, Chep Nuñez, Albert Cabrera & Tony Moran (together as The Latin Rascals), Omar Santana (a Latin Rascal affiliate), Kurtis Mantronik, and Shep Pettibone, transformed tape editing from a passive, transparent engineering process into a prominent rhythmic element.
