ELECTROSTYLE mixed back in 1986-87 on two Sony belt drive turntables, (the ones with the dial-pitch potentiometers), 2 tape decks, crowbarred through an in-line Yamaha channel mixer, recorded to a SHARP GF-800 Dual cassette portable stereo. (The best manual 'pause button" responce I could find).
Like many other 'hooked' Hip Hop fans of the early 80's, this 16/17yr old was also in it for life, and the STREETSOUNDS ELECTRO series opened our eyes to what was out there, a perfect cross-section of artists, lables, DJs, producers were absorbed from the compilations, then unloaded on the local IMPORT STORE staff to order, 12" versions and albums in the next shipment.
You will hear some of these 12" alternate versions, sometimes mixed with the "already blended" cuts straight off the Electro comp's, thats 3 tracks at once, plus doo-dads from the tape deck dropped in.
