Pre-Beatles guilty pleasures from my formative years! Sure I’ve always been a dyed-in-the-wool rocker, but I also used to love listening to tonight’s songs on my transistor radio way back in the prehistoric era when dinosaurs roamed the earth. “Truck Drivin’ Tunes” has little to do with truckers, though (although some countrified truckin’ tunes are included here) — the show’s title was the name of one of my homemade tapes, and this is a re-creation. These songs would be played on 8-track tapes in my trusty & rusty old truck, and would cheerfully accompany me on many a road trip. To the music of my youth: “I Remember You” — relax and enjoy this music from a kinder, gentler time.
