A while ago we did a show devoted to rock 'n' roll pioneer Chuck Berry, featuring artists performing nothing but Berry tunes, so here's our Bo Diddley tribute: each song on tonight's show "Who Do You Love" has various artists saluting the music of the man who played a key role in the transition from blues to rock and roll. Little Richard claimed he was "the originator", but Bo's songs (particularly with that iconic "Bo Diddley beat") have always been lovingly played by artists like the New York Dolls and The Stones -- and yes, even Buddy Holly did a Bo Diddley tune. The best known Bo covers were done by The Yardbirds (I'm A Man, included in tonight's show) and Quicksilver Messenger Service, who did a 25-minute version of Who Do You Love on their Happy Trails album in 1968. In fact, we present four versions of that song, from The Doors to the late Rompin' Ronnie Hawkins.
