The return of Blasts From The Past! After a prolonged absence of at least 8 months, the Friday Night Oldies Party is back with a further treasure trove of rockers from the 50s and early 60s. We start off with a double-shot from The Screaming End, otherwise known as rock & roll pioneer Gene Vincent -- followed by The Clovers' original version of Down in the Alley, a song that was covered by Elvis on his 1966 soundtrack album Spinout.
And speaking of original versions: we bring you Chan Romero's original recording of "Hippy Hippy Shake" (a big hit for the Swinging Blue Jeans in 1964). Oddly enough, this song came out LONG before there was such as thing as hippies in San Francisco! Yes, I know we already played this song six years ago on Volume 5 of the Friday Night Oldies Party, but it's one of those tunes that deserves a repeated listen!
