Country music two weeks in a row on the Captain Maniac Show?? Well, last week our theme was "songs with goofy titles that are too hilarious to be real", and of course C&W seemed to be predominant in that regard.
In this episode, however, our subject matter is "country musicians playing rock music"! That's right -- many rock n roll standards have been performed admirably by country artists coming out of their comfort zone, so we start off with Marty Stuart (who does "Rock and Roll" by Led Zeppelin) and get rockin' (country style) from there. A few AC/DC songs are covered, namely Ride On by Corb Lund, Highway to Hell by Hayseed Dixie, and Thunderstruck by Steve 'n' Seagulls. Country versions of songs by The Rolling Stones, Queen, Metallica, The Clash, Van Halen are on deck as well as many more that you might not expect: Dwight Yoakam contributes a Cheap Trick cover, and yes we even have Garth Brooks doing Hard Luck Woman, a tune by Kiss! It's Only Rock and Roll But I Like It....
