With an episode entitled “Ups & Downs”, just what could our theme be? Why, songs with either the word Up or the word Down in each song title, that’s what! After starting off the show with an appropriate tune (“Ups And Downs” by Paul Revere & the Raiders) we explore some of the songs that meet this qualification, with the emphasis on music of the Classic Rock persuasion, including favourites like Status Quo (“Down Down”), Jimi Hendrix (“Up From The Skies”), Kapt. Kopter and His Fabulous Twirlybirds (“Downer”) and many more from the voluminous Captain Maniac Show vaults. We even bring you a couple of Sparkling Apple songs which admirably follow this theme, as well as the Freddie King version of the much-covered “Goin’ Down”!
