As a public service in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, we will continue to present our regularly-scheduled radio shows, following the World War II slogan in the UK, “Keep calm and carry on”. Tonight’s episode was going to be titled “More Alcoholics Unanimous”, but we chose the alternate title of “Free Beer” instead — in the old days, we were told, if we had changed our band name to Free Beer, any venue would be packed if that was what was on the outdoor marquee! Har har!
Episode 304 is a further examination of the connection between alcohol and music, with beer-drinkin’ songs starting us off. For whatever reason, the emphasis tonight turns out to be country music, due to the fact that there are so many country tunes with alcohol as the subject matter (must be an occupational hazard).
