Description
We didn’t play our In Memoriam show at the beginning of this year, so here it is now, just a few weeks late, but better late than never! In this episode, we present a few songs from some of the musicians who left us in 2019 — Dick Dale, Ginger Baker, Eddie Money and Peter Tork are definitely on board, although we also include other artists who even though they aren’t as well-known, still made a lasting impression. For instance, few non-musicians would have heard of drummer Hal Blaine, a prolific session player who by his estimation played on over 35,000 recordings; or guitarist Gerry McGee, who played on The Ventures’ biggest hit, “Hawaii Five-O”, after Nokie Edwards briefly left the group. As Dr. John told us, “Right Place Wrong Time”! (Neil Peart is not included in this episode, because he passed away in 2020.)
