Well, after three years of uploading shows to Mixcloud, The Captain Maniac Show is celebrating its 200th episode! Thanks to all for tuning in, and rest assured that there will definitely be much more to come — we’re just getting warmed up! This week we present something special, particularly for those of us in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia: a show called “Support Local Music,” where the primary focus is music produced in the Vancouver area, featuring a small sample of local artists who are passionate about writing their own original material. You folks in other parts of the world will not have heard of very many of the artists presented here (such as La Chinga, Aviator Shades, TrailerHawk and HEAD), but here on the Wet Coast, they are very much loved and all have devoted followers. As Supe Man tells us, “Get off the couch and occupy a local venue”! (Thanks to ace photographer Darren Lulka for letting us use one of his pix for our show artwork!)
