Just in time for Sir Paul McCartney’s 75th birthday, we present Episode161 / Meat The Beatles, a collection of Beatles songs that were covered by other artists in their own inimitable style! In keeping with our policy of being weird, wonderful and slightly unpredictable, the most covered song in history (“Yesterday”) is NOT included in this installment — owing to our arbitrary time constraints, we were only able to include a small sampling of the thousands of Beatle covers out there, and believe me, there are PLENTY! However, we do start off with Jimi Hendrix’s version of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, as you might have heard), along with some rather bizarre variations such as the William Shatner version of Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds or A Hard Day’s Night as done by Peggy Lee! We can work it out!
