DJ infinitE (aka DJ Greg Downer / CDJ infinitE) is a Toronto-based techno DJ whose practice began in 1995. Rooted in underground electronic music, infinitE approaches DJing as long-form architecture rather than playlist culture, focusing on hypnotic structure, precision mixing, and sustained flow.
A formative influence was Dr. Trance (Don Berns), whose work shaped infinitE’s understanding of techno as a vehicle for altered states, coherence, and deep continuity. That lineage is reflected in sets that prioritize restraint, repetition, and immersion over spectacle.
Sets often draw on mathematical and symbolic ideas, such as √InfinitE, exploring recursion, infinity, and consciousness through sound. Operating primarily within Toronto’s underground, DJ infinitE maintains a quiet, consistent presence, treating the DJ booth as a control space for collective focus rather than a stage.
Techno here is structure, signal, and journey.
