By the will that moveth mountains
So doth rhythm reign
In metric meter- oh, so mighty over mass -
Arranging matter
As it is, to be
But for the sake of beat.
The stagnant and the slowest find no reason
To accord.
Yet, the meaning is the measure
And the reasons:
Tone and chord.
As dancers, we damn dissonance
And noise in place of note.
Only by your melodies
Shall we, as clouds, take float.
.
So, set our form as soul
To play,
And we shall make you king
One day.
Not of iron, nor of stone,
But by beats we leap
As we enthrone.
And, from heights to depths
its gloats a gleaming tone,
This monument
Which you raised, dear architect,
For sequence sake
Alone.
