Folk music carries a legacy as old as the hills—especially here in Mountain View, Arkansas, and throughout the Ozark Mountains. It's not just music; it's a living reflection of the people—of their struggles, triumphs, and everyday lives. Rooted in the heart of the countryside, these classic folk songs and stories are the voices of generations past and present.
Through Folk Music Rewind on KWMV and our many heartfelt interviews, I’ve had the honor of capturing these voices. The musicians who join me don’t just play songs—they share memories, wisdom, and the spirit of a culture that deserves to be remembered and celebrated.
Together, we shine a light on the traditions of the Ozarks and the Appalachians, helping listeners across the United States reconnect with their roots. Our mission is simple but powerful: preserve the music, protect the stories, and pass them on. Because when we listen—truly listen—we ensure that folk music and the spirit of Americana not only survive... but thrive.
