Hon. Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba popularly known as "GBM" is the current Member of Parliament for Kasama Central constituency in Northern Province. A self made successful businessman, he is also former Minister of Defence in the ruling Patriotic Front's government of the late President H.E. Micheal Chilufya Sata. Hon. Mwamba's woes started during the late president's refusal to recognize Mr Sosala who is the current Paramount Chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba people which led to his eventual resignation from his cabinet position. GBM well known for his generosity and not shy to openly declare his wealth, also found himself at odds with his party when he decided to support and campaign for the opposition candidate and president of UPND, Mr Hakainde Hichilema during the just ended presidential election which led to disciplinary action against him and eventual expulsion from the PF party.
