Description
The Buumbalambo Foundation was founded by Buumba Malambo, who, when she was a young teenager herself, recognized that gaps in education and illiteracy are key factors for children in need. During her teen years, Buumba realized that the only way to curb most of the poverty and illiteracy problems in the villages is to attack the problem from the grassroots, which in this case is child illiteracy.
Buumba found that by attracting orphaned and abused children using sports, such as soccer and netball, that dialogues could be engaged, and help provided.
Buumbalambo Foundation envisions children living in an illiteracy free society. The foundation is based on the values of accountability, consensus integrity, fairness, equality, commitment, excellence, efficiency and effectiveness.
The GOAL:Reduce child illiteracy, prevent child entrapment and physical abuse.
