I did this 2nd trains show because the first 1 was so successful & i had so much material. There is something about trains – probably the rhythmic clatter – that lends itself to folk music, where trains represent departure, heartbreak, the blues, adventure, escape, longing, to minimal techno, dub and ambient where the train sounds seem perfectly in sync with the general aesthetic – minimal representations of train sounds [sometimes based on actual recordings] that create the fascinating hypnotic sound of a train heading down the shiny rail. Interesting that when you search for the electronica genres there are very very many tracks that use trains as a theme.
