Halloween is a special day: I remember when I was 10, it was super cool to dress as a bum or hobo. There must be some irony there. In 1983 I went to a Halloween party in Asbury Park dressed as a "Greedy Ghoul for Reagan." Halloween not only scares the daylights out of kids, they get to eat lots of sugar & tromp around in costumes & play with the dead. This pagan worship irks & worries the religious right, making it all the more fun for some. I tried creating a mix that didn't delve too deeply into standard halloween sounds altho I couldn't ignore Klaus Nomi, Cramps and Screamin' Jay. I wanted to create a sensuround mix of scary terror so used lots of atmospheric & mixable musics like dub - it was imperative to use the GREAT Jack Dangers Halloween Dub collection.
