This month, Kamar selects an hour of music made solely by migrant musicians, from many times and places, before continuing the conversation from last months show around Indian migration to the UK and the explosion of musical output that occurred as a result.
Kamar is joined for this show by none other than Nitin Sawhney, one of the most acclaimed British-Asian musicians and composers of the last century. A recipient of the Ivor Novello Lifetime Achievement award in 2017, a Mercury Prize nomination and a MOBO Award, among multiple international awards throughout his career, Sawhney's work combines Asian and other worldwide influences with elements of electronica and often explores themes such as multiculturalism, politics, and spirituality.
