The first 60 minutes of our Raúl Monsalve y Los Forajidos takeover is a journey through the rich and diverse sounds of Venezuelan music, curated by Olindo Records co-owner Miguel Colmenares, aka Shakaito. This mix highlights the country's vibrant Afro-diasporic music, beginning with the sounds of Venezuelan birds recorded in the 1970s by French ornithologist Jean C. Roché. From there, you'll hear an eclectic blend of styles, including calipso, malembe, salsa, jazz and funk, along with a couple of tracks from Los Forajidos’ new LP, SOL.
