Tune in for Oto Nova Japan, a show introducing a new wave of artists and music coming out of Japan, with Worldwide FM's senior producer and Gilles Peterson's longtime radio collaborator, Mari*!
It's the Independence day of Brasil and also the birthday of Sonny Rollins, an American jazz tenor saxophonist. The theme of October's show is "Jazz and Rhythms"
She is joined by Takuya Kuroda, a highly-respected trumpeter/composer/arranger who has played with José James to DJ Premier.
They will chat about his new album “Fly Moon Die Soon” (First Words Records). Album of the month is ‘Venus’ by Logic System. It’s a synth classic by Japanese wizard and YMO programmer Hideki Matsutake, and the album is reissued by Wewantsound outside of Japan for the first time in 40 years.
