Description
Broadcast from Addis Ababa on Muzikawi Radio. A deep, reflective session with composer and educator Wesenyeleh Mebreku, navigating the space between memory, rhythm, and experimentation.
Rooted in Ethiopian musical traditions yet open to abstraction, this set traces a personal and cultural continuum where sound is not constructed, but revealed. Working with minimal tools, Wesenyeleh explores reduction as a method. Stripping music back to feeling, tone, and intention. The result is intimate, patient, and quietly expansive. Also featured is a preview of Golden Dust, an upcoming release with Muzikawi built from fragments, gestures, and overlooked musical ideas that carry deeper histories.
“Music doesn't depend on resources, but on clarity of feeling.”
