Love From Rome: Khalab with The Real Vinyl Guru // 19-12-21

Italian afro-futurist producer and DJ Khalab cruises on a round trip journey between ancestral rituals and psyche, deserts and spaceships, jungle and skyscrapers. ‘Love From Rome’ is his monthly show directly from Studio 33 in Rome, with two hours of new music, special edits, amazing remixes and exclusive previews.
The second hour of this show is a mix of East African 45s that Khalab’s friend and colleague Megan Iacobini de Fazio brought to him from Nairobi. They were selected with the help of the legendary Jimmy Rugami, aka The Real Vinyl Guru, who’s been selling records from stall 570 of Nairobi’s smoky Kenyatta Market since 1989. Including Congolese rumba, Luo funk, the Kikuyu benga of Kenyan icon Joseph Kamaru, and many more East African sounds.
