Description
Jaubi is an instrumental quartet from Lahore, Pakistan, known for their unique fusion of North Indian Classical, Spiritual Jazz and hip hop inspired grooves The band is named after an Urdu word loosely translated as “whatever/whoever”. Creating whatever sounds good and whatever feels good is the group's guiding principle. It's this philosophy that led to the band collaborating with some of the leading jazz players across Europe and the World. Firstly in 2019 with U.K jazz maverick Tenderlonious (22a, Ruby Rushton) and one of Poland's leading jazz players Latarnik (EABS, Bloto) who travelled to Lahore in Pakistan to collaborate with the band. That fruits of that trip resulted in the band's much lauded debut album Nafs At Peace, regarded by Bandcamp, The Guardian, Vinyl Factory and many more as one of the albums of 2021.
