Gondwana Records: Jack Wyllie (Paradise Cinema) // 06-08-20

For this month's Gondwana Records show, Jack Wyllie of Portico Quartet and Szun Waves takes over from Matthew Halsall and presents his new project ‘Paradise Cinema’ made in Dakar with Sabar drummers Khadim Mbaye and Tons Smabe. This show looks the musical influences on the project from 90’s ambient through to densely percussive Mbalax music from Dakar. It also focuses in on Orchestra Baobab following the passing of their singer Balla Sidibé.
