This month, Debora is joined by Rana Uludağ for a guest mix. Rana Uludag is a drummer and percussionist, recording and performing with Istanbul-based psychedelic pop band Palmiyeler and Turkish folk artist Ahmet Ali Arslan. Her passion for boundary-breaking and genre-defying music has led her to pursue a career in the music industry, working in critically acclaimed establishments such as GlobalFest and National Sawdust in NYC. She is currently managing a newly formed record label Omni Sound, preparing their debut release, a studio album by Sun Ra Arkestra recorded in June 2021, celebrating Sun Ra’s heritage and Marshall Allen’s 63 years in the Arkestra, 28 as the leader.
