Born in London, Half Mauritian half Moroccan, raised to music from both Morocco and Mauritius, Mehdi El-Aquil is a DJ and Selector who has witnessed the pivoting of musical currents over the past decades. Heavily inspired by Jazz-funk, Hip-hop, Electro Boogie, Afro-beat, Soul, and House music, Mehdi has been honing his craft since the early 80s. As a DJ he has transitioned from playing in Ibiza to making regular appearances in London during the mid-90s, followed up by a steady relocation to Australia back in 2004.

Mehdi's DJ style is free-floating, eclectic, and lively, with a penchant for positive vibes fully summarizing the essence of DJing.
