Wildblood and Queenie: Sunday Sundae Pride Reunion 2024

It was the 8th June 2003 and this nervous Wildblood made my Sunday Sundae debut at 10 Marine Parade, the infamous Escape Club. Two and a half hours hours of afternoon chillout with 30 mins at the end filled with house – nothing to scare the (disco) horses. It was a day I will always treasure, a path into a family of Sunday Sundae clubbers, the wonders of Audio and Patterns and the DJs and promoters that changed the direction of my deck life. Thanks to Dulcie Danger’s persistence, Paul Kemp’s belief and Richard Jones’ DJ lessons (“smile Kate, smile FFS!!!”) things never sounded the same again.

It was, as it always is, a Pride highlight, as the house classics we loved diverted by the occasional queer disco classic brought us together under the glitterball for one more dance
