VibeRide: In Rod We Trust

In Rod We Trust - Rod Temperton, that is. It's hard to believe that one man is the brain behind all the songs in this mix, but that he is, and I for one am thankful. Given all these wonderful jazzy funky and soulful hits It's also hard to believe that Grammy award winning Mr Temperton isn't some cool, shades wearing bad-ass from America - ala Quincy Jones - but he isn't (well, he might be a bad-ass). He is in fact an unassuming British gent from a quaint seaside village on the east coast of a small island known as Britain. In the late seventies Rod played keyboards in a band you might know called Heatwave. A couple of my favourites he wrote for that outfit are in this mix along with classics he composed for Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones, Rufus & Chaka Khan, The brothers Johnson and of course Michael Jackson.
