Sandy has been the backbone of the British film industry for just over half a century. He most notably produced "Performance" (1970). This was Nic Roeg's debut feature, which was written and co-directed by Donald Cammell, starring Mick Jagger and James Fox. After which came "That'll Be the Day" (1973) and Stardust (1974) both written by Ray Connolly and starring David Essex. He also Produced Ken Russell's Mahler (1974) and Lisztomania (1976) before going on to be CEO of Goldcrest, Twentieth Century Fox, and then MGM.
