New Yorker Bob Gruen began his photographic career following Ike & Tina Turner on tour. In 1971 he became close friends with John Lennon and spent almost a decade photographing his life. Amid this timeframe he captured key New York scenes. Most notably at two legendary NYC music venues, namely Max's Kansas City, home of 'Andy Warhol's Factory Set' - later the favoured venue of The New York Dolls - and CBGB's the home to the burgeoning NYC Punk Rock scene with The Ramones and Blondie.
