Celebrated Welsh harpist Amanda Whiting curates a one-off show highlighting some of her favourite tracks, specially selected for International Jazz Day. Rooted in classical training, Amanda has carved out a unique path in modern jazz, drawing inspiration from harp greats like Dorothy Ashby and Alice Coltrane. ~ Her self-penned debut album After Dark was released on Jazzman Records in April 2021, earning her a nomination for Jazz FM's Instrumentalist of the Year. Later that year, she performed in Mannheim with Greg Foat, embarked on a sold-out tour with Chip Wickham, and closed out 2021 with standout performances at Ronnie Scott's and the WeJazz Festival in Helsinki. ~ Her latest release, The Liminality of Her on First Word Records, was named one of the Top Ten Albums of 2024 in the Jazz First Members Poll - a testament to her evolving artistry and international acclaim.
