Today's show features a tribute to Ethiopian great Alemayehu Eshete - who has just passed away, & so John will be playing some of his 45s as well as a mini-tribute to Victor 'Guitar Boy' Uwaifo, superstar of Nigerian music, who passed away at the end of August, a few unheard West African afro-rock and afrobeat 45s from the HMV Nigeria label, some South African funk, and maybe even a slice of boogaloo and latin soul.
The guest mix returns today with a 30 minute cumbia and psychedelic Latin selection from fellow Bristol DJ and collector Boom Operator, the other half of the 'La Bomba' club promotion team.
