It seems strange to think that in just under two Into the Blogosphere shows’ time (that’s a month, in normal terms), we’ll be approaching the halfway point of the musical year. That would make it approximately 300 sensational mp3s that I’ve played to you, to date. And some of the best crop up on this week’s show; we’re talking head-turning bedroom pop; ferocious, two minute-long Manchester- based punk and some of the most distinctly beautiful songs of the year to date (I’m looking at you, Sacred Animals feat. Steffaloo).
Lest we forget some stunning new singles from Fear of Men, Blackbird Blackbird and a glorious saxophone solo in Sunless ‘97’s ‘Body Weather’. Come to think of it, we’ve been a little short of saxophone solos so far this year, so keep ‘em coming. All that, plus one song made entirely out of Youtube clips, and the highlight on Sigur Ros’ excellent new album. New music is lovely, don’t you think?
