It feels like the Earth (read: small portions of the internet) stood still when Beach House re-emerged with their first track in two years, so it’s easy to justify why ‘Myth’ made the cut for this week’s ‘Into the Blogosphere.’ But we wouldn’t want one track to steal the show. All the other 29 entrants make a formidable effort to out-do the Baltimore duo, with Kid A’s sweet and simple ‘BB Bleu’ and Burial + Four Tet’s electronic dream duet coming close to doing just that.
As well as this, we seem to have a running theme of “stylish music” on this week’s show. Airhead’s awe-inspiring chopping up of Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Karen O’s vocals makes for something especially suave, with Elegant Animals’ charming R&B and the return of O.Children raising the style stakes like never before. You could mistake this week’s ‘Into the Blogosphere’ for an audible equivalent of London Fashion Week, really. Or you could sit back and enjoy 30 stellar mp3s. Up to you.
