OK, While we're normally first to beat someone over the head with the the 'New Music' stick, we do, here at SoapCo Towers, love to hear once in a while, someone who we think, in the past, humbly, quietly and almost single handedly changed the face of music on Earth (& beyond) as we know it, forever.
More artful, influential and varied than The Beatles and The Stones combined, and more entertaining than Take That and The Spice Girls blowing themselves up in front of a stadium full of politicians, Mr Jones has had us on a leash since we first dipped in, so without wanting to tempt any kind of fate, here's 86 brilliant minutes of why we love him.
The selection may not be his most well known, this was conscious on our part, but we think this hangs together as a great tribute, and we wish him well on his musical vacation, even if it's permanent, we think he's fuc*ing well earned it.
