Having stumbled upon both volumes of his Off D'Wrekkid series last year, we were pretty much blown away by the staggered anti-rhythms and field recording manipulation that infuses Morpheground's sound. After we were skulled by Supernova, InTheHive turned out to be the other standout, with it's clattering snares and micro-melodies interlocking before a churning, cyclic recording dominates the outro. Other selections, including Cancer Sun, Libra Rising and Musical Training, showcase a much more restricted production style but still nonetheless bang in all the right ways beats should.
The man himself is something of an enigma, with just the two said EPs under his belt, and a slew of unreleased material smattered over his Soundcloud. The only thing we know is that he's from the US, resides in Italy and indulges in Pasta/Pizza-making services (no joke, hit the Soundcloud link!)
